Yes, and I think we all have many different faces and feeling depending where our ego is pushing us on a particular day. What if I look into an image and I see some chubby dude???? Or if I look into an image and see dirty stick?

My guess is that when we look at an image and we something good, then we are in touch with reality. When we see something bad, we're feeling the fantasy of ego.

Re: Picture - Yep I see the comparison. Especially when I think of the movie Tin Cup.

There are "AH-HA" moments in life when we feel great peace of mind and everything seems to make perfect sense, but when my ego is involved, these moments rarely come to pass.

All the other moments are just as great and just as amazing I suppose. All the boring, frustrating, and frightening times would could be called the "HA-HA" moments. (must be laughed at and as more fantasy of the human mind)

Great post, Krista! I'm so glad you brought Odacava to life.

I think the most bold thing I've ever done is to be myself. And it's also the most courageous thing I've ever done. I can't tell you the times I've thought myself wrong for thinking one way or another. But I've NEVER, NEVER regretted being honest. Even when it was not received the way I hoped. It's always been worth the risk.

Well said KG (I know it's KE now... whatever), I've always caught myself either second guessing my initial thoughts or dismissing them entirely thinking they were wrong. Its funny because thinking back, it happened a lot during my University days as well. Is U of S Commerce to blame?

Regardless, I feel the same way. There are a lot of times at work when I'll become discouraged because the way I thought of doing a task is different or new. So instead of suggesting my method, I'll "go along" with the current way. Everyone looses because the current way generally sucks. Wayne Gretzky said it best "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."

Very interesting blog Krista, I'll keep checking in.

Makes me want to go buy some comic books. Used to just LOVE reading comics and looking at the illustrations. When we were older we started buying Heavy Metal magazine which was a big deal. The art work on the heavy metal magazine was WAY over the top. Their artists were extreme to say the least.

Actually, when was a teenager growing up in Victoria, B.C., there was a little corner store in Oak Bay called "Mike and Shirley's" and they had nothing but comic books and video games (the very first video games ever seen by man - 1979-80-81). This was just a couple whose names were (of course) Mike and Shirley.

I hope that Chris really goes for it. What an amazing career that would be!!

Not so sure on the #1 part. Spent 35 years doing that - now I'm working on making myself #2 for a change.

We of course have to defend ourselves the ODD time, and perhaps those around us once in a blue moon. Making sure you get fair shake and not get taken advantage of is very important though (think that is what Bonnie actually means in this context).

I wish I could "get addicted" to staying busy. You know - for just a week. My addiction is going in to sloth mode on the couch with my computer.

It was back in the 70s when I was a kid and they did this aptitude questionnaires on all the kids in the school. Think I was grade 8 so that would have been 14 years old in 1977 - anyway, they also asked us what we would want to do if money was not even taken into consideration. Can't remember what I said, but I know the test told me I would like being a priest - really weird.

I think if we add more to it like;

1) make sure you do something that rewards you
2) make sure you do something that helps others, even if indirectly (like blogging)
3) make sure you do something that you enjoy very much

I think if we stick to these 3 principals, money will naturally become a bi-product of the passionate work - no matter WHAT it is.

Why? Because if you do something that you love and are passionate about that helps people, you will be good at it, and someone will start paying you to continue helping others. Maybe the Government or private corp. will pay to continue the activity, or maybe you will have people personally paying you to perform your special service.

Have to take a risk though to make your "quest of passion" profitable. It's obviously worth the risk, and IF YOU LOVE WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND IT HELPS PEOPLE it's never a risk - just a matter of time before the money flows from the activity.

Good post Krista.
